WASHINGTON.- El president of the United States, Donald Trumpconsidered that Cuba will seek a “deal” with Washington after he announced that he would impose tariffs for countries that supply oil and he trusted that the island “will be free again.”
The Republican made these statements aboard the presidential plane, Air Force Onewhen the press questioned him about the statements of the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardowho warned that cut off crude oil supplies to Cuba will cause a humanitarian crisis.
“(…) President Sheinbaum was very good.
“I told her: ‘Look, we don’t want them to send oil there (Cuba),’ and she is not sending oil.”

“There doesn’t have to be a humanitarian crisis. I think it’s probably they will come to us and want to make a deal. So Cuba will be free again. “They will come to us and make a deal,” the president said.
Cuba in “a very bad situation,” says Trump
The Republican stressed that Cuba is in “a very bad situation” because “they lived on money and oil from Venezuela but none of this is coming” since EThe United States captured Nicolás Maduro on January 3rd.
He also added that Claudia Sheinbaum was “very good” because, as she said, she asked him that Mexico would also stop sending crude oil to the island y she agreed.

Tariffs for oil supplies to Cuba
Trump signed an executive order on Thursday to impose tariffs to those countries that supply oil to the island.
The Cuban Government described “fascist” the measurewhich in practice means a energy asphyxiation for the islandand Claudia Sheinbaum announced that Mexico will look for “different alternatives” to support the Cuban people.
