Special Army troops work directly with local authorities in rapid response

To date, the municipalities of Alvaiázere, Ferreira do Zêzere, Tomar, Marinha Grande, Entroncamento, Marinha Grande, Vila Nova da Barquinha, Gavião, Constância, Chamuscathey have at their disposal various equipment made available by the Army, such as generators, cleaning teams, vehicles, energy and lighting modules, accommodation modules, among others.

In Leiria, where the Army itself suffers significant damage to its Regiment, contacts with the local authority are also being difficult to provide further assistance to the population.

The Navy, with the Fuzileiros, will also reinforce the prevention device in the municipalities of Coimbra, Montemor-o-Velho and Soure, with Figueira da Foz being able to be included if necessary. The Navy contingent will be made up of 24 marines, supported by six boats: two in Coimbra, two in Soure (Alfarelos/Granja) and two in Montemor-o-Velho.
