Portugal advances to the semi-finals of the European Futsal Championship after victory over Belgium

The equalizer came in the 13th minute, by Bruno Coelho, following a well-worked collective play, and paved the way for the turnaround. In the 17th minute, Pany Varela signed one of the moments of the match with a powerful shot placed into the top right corner, putting Portugal ahead. Close to half-time, André Coelho successfully completed a quick combination between Pany Varela and Erick Mendonça, making the score 3-1 at rest, in a first half that ended with Belgium full of fouls and a ten-metre free-kick saved by Vrancken.

The second half of the game confirmed the Portuguese ascendancy. After 22 minutes, Rúben Góis increased the lead after a set piece, and shortly afterwards Pany Varela scored again, scoring twice in the match and leaving the result at 5-1. The Portuguese offensive efficiency remained high and Lúcio Rocha scored the sixth goal in the 28th minute, in an individual play. Belgium still reduced through advanced goalkeeper Jamal Aabbou, but the Portuguese response was immediate, with Portugal scoring again on the counterattack and Pany Varela completing the hat-trick in the final moments, sealing the score 8-2.
