“Enter, start and flourish“are the three meanings of the Latin word “Ineo”, which the song chose as its title. This group was formed at the beginning of 2023 and performed in Austria in places such as the Beethoven Museum, the MuseumsQuartier and the Austrian Parliament, during the concert cycle “Echo des Unerhörten” in the Ehrbarsaal, as in the “Estirian Chamber Music Festival”.
El cuarteto Ineo I am a member of the association for chamber music “Le Dimore del Quartetto” and “ProQuartet” and since its inception it has been guided by Johannes Meissl (Artis Quartet) and inspired by musicians such as Alfred Brendel, Quatuor Diotima, François Kieffer (Quatuor Modigliani) and Günther Pichrt (Alban Quart).
String Quartet Metamorphoses come back and offer implementation in this cycle. Four young French people who have a strong desire to explore the song repertoire and share their demanding expressive power and depth with a wider audience. The result is a series of metamorphoses similar to those recounted by Ovid in his masterpiece, whose heart has become a home with its name. Metamorphoses: ephemeral, eternal, invisible and above all plural.
The repertoire of this work ranges from the great masters of the genre to an exploration of the most modern repertoires, from Haydn to Camille Pépin, and is based on the presentation of various little-known works through innovative projects, for example on the SAMU social network, in schools in France and in residences for the elderly (EHPAD). He is currently an artist-in-residence at the Singer-Polignac Foundation.
And as the third group of this month’s heart Leoncora. Founded in Berlin in 2019, it consists of musicians Jonathan and Lukas Schwarz on first violin and cello, with Amelie Wallner on second violin and Maya Konoe on viola as the central voices. Leonkoro, in Esperanto: “Corazón de Leon‘, not coincidentally alludes to Astrid Lindgren’s children’s book about brothers, a book that conveys the grave reality of death with a broad and felt sense of comfort and consolation, a sentiment that the heartfelt repertoire approximates on many occasions.
In March 2024, the Leonkoro Cuarteto received two very important awards, the Young Talent Award from the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award, which is a great honor and an important support for the quartet and its work.
