Early voting location changed in six municipalities because of the storm

Early voting on Sunday will be possible for registered voters in Portugal who signed up to exercise their right to vote on that day.

Registration took place this week, between January 25th and 29th.

There is at least one table in each municipality on the continent and in the Autonomous Regions of the Azores and Madeira, according to information from the Voter Portal.

Voters must go to the polling station in the municipality they indicated at the time of registration, present their civil identification document and indicate the parish of registration where they are registered. After voting, they will be given a duplicate of the security sticker that serves as proof of exercising their right to vote.

If a voter registered to vote is unable to do so, they can exercise their right to vote on February 8th at the polling station or section where they are registered.

Anyone who is registered on the Portuguese electoral register abroad cannot vote in advance, which is only provided for those who are registered in the national territory.

For imprisoned voters and patients hospitalized in hospitals who registered for early voting, the election will take place between February 2nd and 3rd. In these cases, the Mayor or his representative goes to the prison or hospital to collect the vote.

The choice of the new President of the Republic in the second round will be between António José Seguro and André Ventura, the two presidential candidates with the most votes in the first round, on January 18th.
