Analysis of the art of sound in the school of Adolfo Prieto | CONART

• Within the Journals of Artistic Demonstrations of the EAP | CONARTE, on October 25th and 26th we will discuss the harmfulness of sound in artistic practices.

Monterrey, Nuevo León.- Sound art, atmospheres, landscapes, textures and among the distinctive artistic practices that work as an expressive medium of sound will be the theme of the Days of Art Demonstrations, which will take place for the third time at the Adolfo Prieto School | CONART.

“The days are a combination of activities in which we focus on the discussion of an artistic discipline, in this case the discipline with which we want to have a dialogue to reflect on its characteristics: sound experimentation or sound art,” said Eliud Nava, director of the Adolfo Prieto School.

“It’s directed by the general public, those people who are interested in learning a little more about experimenting with sound, it’s also directed by artists of any field, we’re very interested in multidisciplinarity, interdisciplinarity, and it can be artists who go beyond theater, dance, who are also looking for the visual, but have some interests in sound art,” he agreed.

CONARTE through the Adolfo Prieto School organizes four days every year, during the first three years of the year the themes are: video art, dance and now sound art or sound experimentation.

These activities aim to raise awareness of contemporary practices and generate focus on contemporary artistic expressions such as music, sound art, which have been present in discussions of the visual, the present and its evolution in the last five decades.

Wednesday, October 25, 7:30 p.m

Master classes | “Sound Research as an Artistic Discipline” taught by Eliud Nava.
June 26 from 17:30 to 19:30 (after registration on the CONARTE website)

Art presentation | “Viejo Hogar” by Víctor Salazar.
June 26 from 19:30 to 20:30
