Dubai plans to build the world’s first street literally paved with GOLD in the latest flamboyant influencer hotspot

DUBAI has announced plans to build the world’s first street paved with gold in the influencer hotspot’s latest glitzy attraction.

The stunning plans form part of a purpose-built development for the emirate’s jewelery industry, dubbed the Golden District.

Designed for institutional tourists, shoppers and professionals, this charming place is considered a central attraction.

Further details are yet to be released and further information is expected to be developed in phases.

Ahmed Al Khaja, Director General of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism he said “gold is deeply woven” into Dubai’s cultural fabric.

He added: “Through this landmark destination, we are not only celebrating this heritage, but also reshaping it for a new era shaped by creativity and sustainability.

“This achievement reflects the strength of our public-private sector collaboration and underlines the collective ambition of our partners and stakeholders to position Dubai at the forefront of global innovation and excellence.”

The Gold District will be home to more than 1,000 gold, jewelery and cosmetics retailers, Time out Dubai reported.

Verified brands include Jawhara Jewellery, Malabar Gold and Diamonds, Al Romaizan and Tanishq Jewellery.

Six new hotels will accommodate international visitors and business partners.

And it will be surrounded by even more luxury, located next to one of Dubai’s oldest traditional markets, the Gold Souk.

The district will add to Dubai’s growing list of global landmarks as it churns out endless mega projects.

It follows the recent opening of the world’s tallest hotel located nearby Dubai port.

The Ciel Dubai Marina Hotel stands at a whopping 377 meters tall and is breathtaking degree from Hotel Gevora, also in Dubai.

With more than 1,000 rooms and 147 suites spread over 82 floors, guests can explore several beaches, shopping areas and major attractions right at their fingertips.

Dubai will also soon hold the title of the world’s tallest train station following the announcement of a £3.6bn rail line extension project.

Dubai the new Metro Blue Line includes plans for a 74 meter high station – the tallest in the world.

By 2030, 200,000 passengers are expected to use the system each day, rising to 320,000 by 2040.

Work is already underway and is due to finish in 2029 – the 20th anniversary of the Dubai Metro.

And Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport, which opened in 2010 announced an expansion in a bid to become the world’s largest.

When completed, it will be Al Maktoum we welcome 260 million passengers a year.
