Moloughney, who shared the video, said the snow blower was tasked with clearing his 6,000 square feet. driveway during a thunderstorm. “This will be a great test to see if this robot can handle a 6,000 square foot driveway during a major winter storm. I’m inside sipping coffee while he does his work and so far so good!” he wrote
The device completed its first drive down the driveway and returned to the charging station. After approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, it will be charged to 80% and automatically resume lubrication. Moloughney plans to run the snow blower for the duration of the storm and post a review video on @StateOfChargeEV later this week.
Storm Fern New Jersey winter blankets with snow, sleet and ice
Winter Storm Fern swept through New Jersey early Sunday morning, bringing a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain, complicating cleanup efforts across much of the state. Northern areas saw about 4-5 inches of snow, including about 5 inches in Bergen County and over 4 inches in Essex and Union counties. Central regions saw 3-6 inches, while South Jersey generally received 4-5 inches, with lower totals along coastal and airport locations where precipitation turned freezing.
Forecasters warned that significant amounts of snow would remain on the ground after the storm, with the northwest and far north expected to receive the heaviest accumulations of 12-18 inches and isolated areas could exceed 20 inches. Northeast and central New Jersey were forecast to end up with about 8-12 inches, while snowfall totals were expected to drop closer to the coast and further south, with the Jersey Shore and southern counties expected to see about 4-10 inches amid sleet and freezing rain.
