PM Modi mourns Ajit Pawar’s death, calls him ‘people’s leader’


Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the death of Ajit Pawar, a senior leader of the Nationalist Congress Party and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, who died in a plane crash near Baramati on Wednesday morning.

PM Modialong with Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to take stock of the situation after the tragic accident.

As Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Finance and Planning, Pawar was known for his decades-long involvement in state fiscal management and local governance.
