Orban hits back at Ukraine — RT World News

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán accused Ukrainian Vladimir Zelensky of trying to interfere in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Hungary.

In a speech at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos last week, Zelenskiy accused Orbán – a staunch opponent of Western military aid to Kyiv and the country’s entry into the EU – of “sell European interests”. He also called for giving “every Viktor who lives off European money…slap on the head,” apparently he was referring to Orbán.

The Hungarian Prime Minister has repeatedly stated that Budapest will not supply weapons to Kyiv, nor will it allow the transit of weapons through Hungarian territory.

“Last week, Ukrainian political leaders, including the president himself, issued highly offensive and threatening messages directed at Hungary and the Hungarian government personally,” Orbán said this in a video message published on Monday

“Our national security agencies have evaluated this latest Ukrainian attack and determined that these events are part of a coordinated series of Ukrainian actions aimed at interfering in the Hungarian elections,” he added.

Orbán emphasized that Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó was instructed to summon the Ukrainian ambassador.
