Kolkata: BJP president Nitin Nabin on his first visit to West Bengal on Wednesday slammed the Trinamool Congress government over alleged infiltration, corruption, misgovernance and attempts to derail the SIR in the state, saying the Election Commission of India is trying to clean up the voter list.
Nabin accused the Trinamool government of harboring infiltrators and targeting Hindus.
Claiming that this was a deliberate attempt by the Trinamool to convert West Bengal into Bangladesh, Nabin said, “Infiltrators from Bangladesh have no right to stay in this country.”
Nabin alleged that while ECI was trying to root out infiltrators and fake voters, Trinamool was protecting them. The BJP chief expressed concern over alleged demographic changes in West Bengal and alleged that the Trinamool intended to merge West Bengal with Bangladesh.
