The body of a 23-year-old British tourist who tripped and fell into the ocean in Australia has been found.
Officers were called to Billies Beach in Corrunna following reports that a body had washed ashore.

A spokesman said: “The body has been formally identified and is that of a missing 23-year-old UK national.”
A report will be prepared for the coroner, they added.
The man had been missing for almost a week after falling several meters from a cliff into the ocean on January 18.
Emergency services were called to Mystery Bay beach in New South Wales – about 7km north of Corrunna – at around 6.40pm.

A new challenge for a British tourist who disappeared in a storm in Ibiza six years ago
Police officers, the Maritime Rescue Service and a helicopter scrambled to the scene to clear the water after the young man failed to surface. But it could not be found.
The man was with a friend at the time of the fall, said Superintendent Shane Jessep of the South Coast Police District.
He added: “It wasn’t a fisherman on the rocks, it was a men’s tour and … it seems he had an accident and slipped on the rocks.”
The search was curtailed last week.
The tragedy comes after another British tourist died while traveling in Australia’s New South Wales after being caught in a cyclone.
Eleanor Thompson, known as Ellie, was crushed to death by her van strong tropical cyclone Alfred hit Australia.
Ellie, originally from Flintshire, Wales, texted her mother Amanda three days before her body was discovered on March 11, 2025.
On March 10, Ellie failed to show up for her shift at the bar, prompting friends to visit the house where she was staying.
The next day, they discovered her Mazda van off the driveway, wedged in overgrown vegetation.
Tragically, Ellie’s body was found under the vehicle and shortly afterwards it was confirmed that she had died from multiple injuries.
Her family believes she died on March 8 as she has not been in contact with anyone since then.
North East Wales Coroner John Gittins said police in Australia believe the van overturned or slid forward due to the slope of the hill or bad weather.
The inquest was told Ellie, originally from Flintshire, Wales, lived in London for 12 years, working in insurance, marketing and events, including Apple TV and the Groucho Club.
In 2022, she traveled solo to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam before heading to Australia the following year.
Ellie was rebuilding the van and promised her father Peter a trip at the end of the year.
Paying tribute, he said: “Ellie’s life was full of adventure and movement.”
