DONALD Trump has launched war games exercises across the Middle East as the main thrust of his Iranian strike force moves into position.
Tensions rose as US air commanders announced a readiness exercise to prepare to pound the rogue Islamist state with “combat air power” after killing up to 36,500 protesters in recent weeks.
The exercise began after US CENTCOM military chiefs revealed that the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and its accompanying warships had arrived in the Middle East.
Trump announced on Tuesday that he had sent a “beautiful army”. Iran – backed by hundreds of US and allied warplanes across the region – as he urged the regime to “make a deal”.
The American president continues his deliberations strikes over Iran’s bloody protest repression, when the regime refused to back down to Washington.
Iranian human rights groups estimate that 36,500 people have died since the evil Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei ordered his fanatical forces to show “no mercy” to protesters.

US Air Forces Central (AFCENT) – the air arm of CENTCOM – said of the war games: “This exercise is designed to strengthen the ability to disperse assets and personnel, strengthen regional partnerships and prepare for a flexible response.”
The statement added that the exercise will allow the US Ninth Air Force to maintain “multinational command and control over a large area of operations.”
Venting his anger over protest deaths and execution threats during January, Trump promised “help is on the way” as Khamenei was brutally crushed by assassins national uprising.
But the US president said he was also open to talks after demanding Iran dismantle its war machine and sinister nuclear programme.
Iran has threatened to attack Israel and US targets in the Middle East in response to any US attack.
CENTCOM confirmed: “The Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group is currently deployed to the Middle East to support regional security and stability.
Iran International, an opposition-linked organization based outside Iran, said at least 36,500 Iranians were killed in Khamenei’s crackdown between January 8 and 9.

The Sun’s sources in Iran revealed that Republican Guard and Basij thugs arrested and executed a doctor for treating injured protesters.
Many HOSPITAL patients treated for gunshot wounds also disappeared after being dragged away by security forces.
The dead also included a total of 86 children and 49 non-demonstrator civilians.
And children as young as 13 were among the thousands blinded by shotgun blasts in the face as government thugs motorcycles they fired into unarmed crowds.
Grainy footage shows dozens of body bags as families line up to identify the remains of their loved ones.
The Iranian government says the death toll is 3,117, with 2,427 being civilians and security forces, while the rest were “terrorists”.
The current death toll is the highest since 1979, when the Islamic Revolution overthrew the late Shah and handed power to the ayatollahs.
Trump is said to be emboldened to strike by intelligence briefings that signal the mullahs’ power is “at its weakest point since the fall of the Shah.”
A senior US official said Washington was “open to business” if the Iranians wanted to negotiate a deal.
But since the arrival of the US fleet near Oman, Iran and its proxies have stepped up their aggressive rhetoric against the US.
Iran’s foreign ministry warned on Monday of a “comprehensive and regrettable response to any aggression” by the US.
The ministry’s spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei emphasized the emergence of the Lincoln, saying: “The arrival of such a battleship will not affect Iran’s determination and seriousness to defend the Iranian nation.
Both Yemen’s Houthi rebels and Iraq’s Kataib Hezbollah paramilitary group warned that any attack on Iran would result in a strong response amounting to “total war” across the region.
