Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Assam is a polarized society and politics in the state will continue to reflect this reality. Speaking in Guwahati, Sarma said the polarization he was referring to was not between Hindus and Muslims, but between Assamese people and what he described as Bangladeshi Muslims. His remarks came amid the ongoing special revision of electoral rolls in Assam.
