North Texas winter weather: Fort Worth ISD and Dallas ISD school closures
Dallas ISD and Fort Worth ISD confirmed that all schools will be closed on Wednesday. Fort Worth ISD said, “While conditions have improved in some areas, many neighborhood and side roads remain icy and impassable, creating unsafe travel conditions for buses, student drivers, staff and families. The decision prioritizes student and staff safety,” Wfaa.com quoted.
DISD, Richardson ISD, DFW school closures and other district closures
Other large districts, including Mansfield, Lewisville, Little Elm and Denton ISDs, are also closed, while some districts continue to monitor conditions before making final decisions.

College closings and virtual learning in DFW
The closures concern not only schools. Colleges like Collin College and Texas Woman’s University are moving to virtual learning or canceling classes, while dozens of private schools, charter schools and early childhood centers across the region are also closed or offering remote learning, Fox4 News reported.
Day care and closing of churches
Local daycares and churches are also affected, with many in-person activities being postponed or moved to virtual services.
Government Office and Meals on Wheels programs
Government offices in several cities, including Irving, Krum, Midlothian and Ovilla, have limited hours or are closed entirely. Meals on Wheels programs in Dallas, Cleburne and Hood County have also suspended deliveries.
