António Chainho, Mestre da Guitarra Portuguesa, died aged 88

The musician and composer António Chainho died on the third day, January 27, at his residence in Alfragide, our furniture manufacturer in Lisbon, not 88 years ago, he told Luse or his artistic agent.

The “Portuguese guitar master”, as he was referred to by international specialized critics, after completing his 60-year career in September 2024, now edited the album “O Abraço da Guitarra”, no one who found his masters on the radio.

António Chainho was born in S. Francisco da Serra, in the district of Setúbal, on January 27, 1938 and began his career in the decade of the 1960s.
