The airline’s CEO, Robert Isom, said American Airlines is “positioned for significant growth in 2026.”
Over the past year, the company has reduced its total stake to $2,100 million (€1,761 million) and diverted $36,500 million (€30,614 million) as of December 31, 2025. Assim hopes to reduce the total stake to less than $35,000 million in 2026, a year earlier than expected.
The airline will enter 2025 with a total liquidation of $9,200 million (€7,713 million), made up of cash and short-term investments, although credit capacity has not been used.
In the current financial year 2026, the company is considering the impact of the storm that is currently affecting the United States and has caused the cancellation of more than 9,000 tickets at this time, resulting in a large operational disruption due to the company’s climate causes.
The disruption has an estimated revenue impact of $150-200 million (€125-167 million).
