Another week, another Power 10. Here’s the second game of the Fall Johnson women’s basketball season.
1. UConn (Prev 1)
The Huskies are fueled by their stifling defense. Star sophomore forward Sarah Strong was out of this world and nearly had a triple-double with 29 points to beat Ohio State.
That doesn’t include his five steals and three balls.

2. South Carolina (Previous 2)
South Carolina defeated Southern California 69-52 last week for their first win of the season and the REAL SC title. It was coach Dawn Staley’s 50th win over an AP Top 10 opponent and the Gamecocks improved to 4-0.
3. UCLA (Previous 3)
UCLA’s Lauren Betts and Oklahoma’s Raegan Beers canceled each other out, but the Bruins’ backcourt knocked the Sooners out of the top 10.
It wasn’t even the team’s latest victory. UCLA picked up its second win of the year with a 78-60 win over North Carolina on Thursday.
4. Texas (Previous 4)
The Longhorns have had a successful first few games of the season, outscoring their last two opponents by a combined 128 points.
5. LSU (Previous 5)
LSU has dropped at least 100 points in every game, with guards Milesia Fulvili and Flau’Jae Johnson averaging 17 and 16 points, respectively.

6. Baylor (Previous 7)
After the fall – No. 15 Duke to start the season, the Bears have won three straight and don’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.
7. Maryland (Previously 8)
The Terrapins were looking to go far and recently returned quarterback Kailyn Smickle from injury. Maryland added a major spark to its roster last season as a first-team All-Big 10 selection.

8. Oklahoma (Previous 6)
The Sooners lost 73-59 against UCLA, but my strength remains at 10. The Bruins are number 3 on this list for a reason.
9. Southern California (Formerly 9)
Despite the loss to South Carolina, the Gamecocks remain in the top 10. South Carolina is elite and the Trojans look like a top tier team.
10. TCU (Formerly NR)
The Horned Frogs went undefeated thanks to their third-quarter offense against NC State, earning a top-10 win on the road. Marta Suarez, a four-three striker, was called up.
