Man who tried to stab dog after random attack stabs another man in Syracuse, police say

Syracuse, NY – A 35-year-old man was hospitalized Wednesday night after being accidentally stabbed in a dog attack, Syracuse police said.

Around 7:55 p.m., police were called to a stabbing in the 900 block of South McBride Street. When they arrived, they found the man with a stab wound to his left arm, Syracuse police spokesman Kieran Coffey said.

The stabbing happened in the 100 block of Radisson Court and was accidental, police said. This happened after another man tried to attack a dog that was biting someone inside the residence. This man also suffered a dog bite on his hand and was treated at St. Joseph.

The man who was stabbed was taken to Upstate University Hospital and is listed in stable condition. Police said his injuries were not life-threatening.
