Syracuse Football Lands From Transfer Portal (Report)

Syracuse, N.Y. — Former Miami (Ohio) wide receiver Cole Weaver has committed to Syracuse, his agency said On the 3.

Weaver visited Syracuse and Oklahoma State.

Weaver started 15 of 16 games for Miami (Ohio) in 2025. He had 45 catches for 642 yards and a TD for the RedHawks. He joins Syracuse as a legitimate rebounding threat.

Weaver is listed at 6-3, 220 pounds. His size will give Syracuse options. He could replace Justus Ross-Simmons on the outside or put on weight and make the transition to tight end.

The RedHawks lined Weaver out wide on 79.8% of his snaps, according to Focus on professional football. He also had a 50% contested catch rate.

Weaver was an all-region selection at Blessed Trinity (Georgia) as a senior. In high school, his high jump stood out. He set the Blessed Trinity record with a jump of six feet four inches.

Syracuse is up to 14 scholarship recipients for 2026 with Weaver’s commitment. The Orange lost their top three wide receivers from 2025 and will need three new starters.

Weaver joins Syracuse with two seasons of eligibility remaining. Syracuse’s spring semester begins Jan. 12, and head coach Fran Brown wants as much of his roster on campus by then.

Players must enter their names in the transfer portal by January 16.
