The National Weather Service issued a freezing rain advisory at 3:33 a.m. Wednesday until 9:15 a.m. for Eastern Schenectady, Eastern Albany, Western Rensselaer, Eastern Rensselaer, Eastern Greene, Western Columbia, Eastern Columbia, Eastern Ulster, Western Dutchess and Eastern Dutchess.
“With temperatures hovering near freezing in some locations, freezing rain is possible through 9 a.m. this morning in parts of the greater Capital Region, the Taconics and mid-Hudson Valley in eastern New York and southern Litchfield County in northwestern Connecticut. Motorists and pedestrians should use caution when driving or walking after 9 a.m. as some rough and slick surfaces may remain on less slippery roads. driveways and ramps, driveways and parking lots,β the weather service says.
