Holiday’s score of 44, sets several records in the Indians’ win over Tennessee Valley

FULTON, MS – Some nights add a line to the record books. Others connect generations.

Tim Holiday turned in a performance that immediately invites comparisons not only to opponents, but to names that have helped define Itawamba Community College basketball over the years.

Holiday scored 44 points in a 90-71 win over Tennessee Valley Community Christian College, moving him ahead of former ICC All-American Brian Halums, whose all-time high of 41 points was set against Southern Shreveport in 2017.

His three-point shooting told an equally loud story. Holiday made nine shots from beyond the arc, breaking the modern record of seven previously held by Fred Cleveland Jr. from a game against Co-Lin in 2022. He attempted 16 3-pointers, surpassing the previous modern mark of 12 set by Tre Jenkins against Mississippi Delta in 2017.

Even the volume of his night put him alongside household names. Holiday’s 22 field goal attempts tied Cleveland’s total for second in a game against Bethel University in 2021. His 13 field goals made tied AJ Dent’s performance against Jones last season and Ma’Darius Hobson in 2020 for second most in a game.

Holiday finished the night 13 of 22 from the field and 9 of 9 at the free throw line, adding five rebounds, three steals and two blocks.

While the Fulton native has made headlines, others have left their own marks by reaching back into program history.

Jason Johnson owned the offensive glass, pulling down nine offensive rebounds and tying Howard Thomas’ total against Shelton State in 2015 for the second most in a game in the ICC. Johnson finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds and didn’t miss a beat, going 4-for-4 from the field and 4-for-4 at the line while recording two blocks.

Damarion Winston added a steady performance that evened out the scoring and distribution. He finished with 12 points and nine assists to go along with three rebounds and two steals while keeping the offense organized.

Jaden Harper scored 10 points with two 3-pointers and Kyler Fox collected 10 rebounds, including seven offensively, while blocking two shots.

Next up for the Indians is a non-conference game against East Mississippi on Thursday night. Guaranty Bank tip-off is scheduled for 19:30 and the match will be streamed live on LetsGoICCTV.com/red.
