The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory at 12:27 p.m. Tuesday for Otsego, Delaware and Sullivan counties from 4:00 p.m. until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday.
“Mixed precipitation is expected. Total snow accumulations up to half an inch. Light glaze ice accumulations up to around one-tenth of an inch,” the weather service said. “Expect a mix of freezing rain and rain late this afternoon, evening and overnight. The mix should change back to wet snow late tonight into Wednesday morning.”
“Plan on slick roads. Hazardous conditions could affect the commute Tuesday night and Wednesday morning,” the weather service said. “Slow down and use caution when traveling. In New York, the latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1. In Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission are reminding motorists to adjust their speed based on driving conditions as winter weather affects Pennsylvania roadways. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution when driving.
