The Buffalo Bills will close out their regular season at home, hosting the New York Jets. It is likely to be the last game to be played at Highmark Stadium before the team relocates next season, so fans will be excited despite the low stakes game.
Buffalo has already clinched a playoff spot, but could move up from seventh in the AFC with a win and a loss against the Houston Texans and/or Los Angeles Chargers. The Bills have not said how long their starters will play against the Jets, but key players are expected to see limited playing time.
One starter who could potentially have something to play for is running back James Cook. Cook entered Sunday as the NFL’s leading rusher, but if Jonathan Taylor passes him during the 1 p.m. window, Buffalo could give Cook enough work to regain the crown.
Cook and other starters are likely to be pulled sooner rather than later, and some have already been ruled out before tonight’s game. Da’Quan Jones (calf), Terrel Bernard (calf) and Jordan Poyer (hamstring) will be inactives for tonight’s game. Here’s a look at Buffalo’s complete inactive roster for the regular season finale.
- DT Da’Quan Jones
- LB Terrell Bernard
- With Jordan Poyer
- WR Brandin Cooks
- DE Greg Rousseau
- LT Dion Dawkins
- DE Joey Bosa
The Jets have nothing to play for at 3:13 and it shows in their roster for tonight’s game. Jets inactives for tonight’s game include Breece Hall. Hall, the team’s top defender, was demoted to an out on Saturday. The back may have played his last game with the Jets as he’s set to hit free agency and will likely have a strong market.
Aside from Hall, here is the full list of Jets inactives for tonight’s game.
- RB Breece Hall
- DL Michael Clemons
- QB Tyrod Taylor (Emergency QB)
- WR Tyler Johnson
- CB Qwan’tez Stiggers
- TE Mason Taylor
- CB Brandon Stephens
