A Syracuse man has been arrested multiple times for stealing baseball equipment, police said


A Syracuse man has been arrested after allegedly stealing sports equipment from a store in an Upstate New York mall.

WROC reports Frank W. Clark, 43, is accused of stealing $8,479.76 worth of baseball bats and baseball gloves from Dick’s Sporting Goods at Eastview Mall near Rochester.

According to WHECThe Ontario County Sheriff’s Office said he was caught Saturday trying to hide the bat in his shirt and leave the store without paying.

Deputies said Clark also stole bats and gloves from the same store multiple times between Nov. 8 and Dec. 27.

He was charged with grand larceny in the third degree and possession of burglar’s tools. Police did not specify what tools were involved.

Clark is being held without bail at the Ontario County Jail, according to WROC.

According to FingerLakes1.comthe DSG store at Eastview Mall in Victor is a large Dick’s House of Sport location with a batting cage, rock wall and other activities. Another Syracuse man, Joshia L. Worley, 32, was reportedly arrested Dec. 19 following a months-long investigation involving two women who allegedly stole more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from the same store in May.
