How Much Snow Could You Get Over New Year’s Eve in an Upstate New York Snowstorm?


Syracuse, NY – Upstate New York is expected to end up in 2025 with a lake-effect snowstorm that could bring snow trails and 60 mph winds.

The storm begins today and could last until New Year’s Eve, the National Weather Service said.

Parts of Western New York, Central New York and the North Country are expected to be the hardest hit.

Winds near Lake Erie and Lake Ontario could exceed 60 miles per hour, causing downed and possibly uprooted trees and power outages.
