The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement from 7:58 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday for northern Westchester, southern Westchester, Richmond (Is.), Kings (Brooklyn), northwest Suffolk, northeast Suffolk, southwest Suffolk, southeast Suffolk, northern Queens, northern Nassau, southern Queens and southern Queens as southern Manhattan and southern Queens as southern Manhattan Rock and Bronx counties.
“Icy areas will remain this morning, temperatures will remain below freezing. Motorists and pedestrians should use extra caution. Reduce speed, allow extra time and be prepared for slick areas this morning,” the weather service explained.
