At 1:07 p.m. Wednesday, the National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch for Northern Westchester, Southern Westchester, Richmond (Staten Is.), Kings (Brooklyn), Northwest Suffolk, Southwest Suffolk, Northern Queens, Northern Nassau, Southern Queens and Southern Nassau, as well as Bronx Orange, Putnam County, from Friday 4:00 PM to Saturday 1:00 PM.
The weather service comments: “Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulation between 4 and 8 inches possible.”
“Plan on slippery roads. Hazardous conditions may affect the Friday evening commute,” the weather service says. “Watch the latest forecast for updates on this situation.”
