The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning at 1:19 PM Thursday for North Westchester, South Westchester, Richmond (Is.), Kings (Brooklyn), Northwest Suffolk, Southwest Suffolk, North Queens, North Nassau, South Queens and South Nassau, as well as Bronx Orange, NewMan Putnam, Count Rockx Orange, NewMan Putnam, from 4:00 PM Friday until 1:00 PM Saturday.
The weather service adds to prepare for: “Total snow accumulation between 4 and 8 inches.”
“Travel may be very difficult. Hazardous conditions could affect the Friday evening commute,” the weather service said. “If you must travel, keep a flashlight, extra food and water in your vehicle in case of emergency. Check your local Department of Transportation’s information services for the latest information on road conditions.”
