A person has died in a house fire in Oneida County


Verona, NY – One person died in a house fire in Oneida County on Christmas Day, officials said.

The fire was reported at 5619 Main St. around 6:20 p.m. in the town of Verona, according to a news release from Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciolo.

The person was not immediately identified.

Deputies found the home fully engulfed in flames upon arrival, Maciol said. According to him, there was a person in the house.

After the fire was extinguished, a dead person was found in the house, he said.
