FULTON, Miss. – It didn’t take long for Villads Juma to make his mark on the junior varsity. By the end of his freshman season, he had become one of the most dangerous scorers in the NJCAA and one of the most decorated players in Itawamba Community College men’s soccer history.
Juma was named to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II All-American second team after a debut campaign that redefined expectations for the freshman forward. The native of Helsingor, Denmark, led the Indians with 20 goals, the second-highest single-season total in program history and surpassed only by David Schumaker’s 24-goal season in 2007.
The goals came early and often. Juma scored two hat tricks, first in an 8–1 win over Oxford College of Emory University on August 29 and again in a 6–0 win over Southwest Mississippi Community College on October 10. He finished the season with 50 points on 20 goals and 10 assists, converting six penalty kicks and scoring six of 19 game-winning goals.
Beyond the numbers, Juma came through in the moments that mattered most. He picked up wins over national rivals Jones College and Pearl River Community College and helped ICC get results against some of the top programs in the country during a tough late-season stretch.
His impact has earned him widespread recognition across the league and region. Juma earned two MACCC Offensive Player of the Week awards, NJCAA Division II Player of the Week, All-MACCC First Team Select, NJCAA All-Region 23 honors and was named the MACCC Men’s Soccer Player of the Year.
The 6-foot, 160-pound Juma arrived at the ICC from Helsingor Gymnasium with a scorer’s instincts and quickly became the focal point of the Indians’ offense. He started all 19 games as a freshman and posted a .690 shooting percentage, finishing among the most efficient finishers in the NJCAA.
The Indians finished the 2025 season with an 11-4-4 overall record and a 6-1-4 mark in conference play. The run included wins over the No. 7 and No. 8 teams in the nation, a tie against the No. 11 team and a goal that earned the ICC votes in the final NJCAA rankings.
Juma’s freshman season wasn’t just a breakthrough. It was a statement.
